Join Wilder for an evening of block-carving and printing. You are encouraged to take a photo of something beautiful to use as a reference, to come and use one of the natural items Wilder brings as a still-life reference, or to make an image of your own design. You'll go home with your very own original hand-printed greeting card (with envelope), as well as your new block. These can be re-inked and can re-print on paper, fabric, or... whatever flat-ish surface your creative mind (combined with the appropriate printing ink) can conceive of... it's truly the people's art!
Instructor:
Wilder Herbertson is a fiber artist, ancestral skills practitioner, forager, and amateur naturalist who has been guiding forays, workshops, retreats, and more through their project Human Becoming since 2019. Their work is an effort to help heal contemporary cultural wounds of disconnection; they strive to co-create embodied spaces where folks can connect with themselves, each other, and the earth’s ecosystems (upon which we depend entirely and for which we are responsible). Find out more at www.humanbecoming.me or email wilderherbertson@gmail.com.
This project was funded by a grant from the Community Foundation of Mendocino County.
With the support of the Community Foundation Field-of-Interest Arts and Culture fund, Medium Art Center will hold a series of in-person workshops that will be held over Spring/Summer 2026 at our downtown location. Through hands-on art-making activities, participants will learn from workshop facilitators to tap into their creativity and learn the necessary skills to create art on their own.
Each session will focus on a different medium of art or technique and will consist of hands-on workshops instructed by skilled and experienced artists. We plan to work with the talented
