Call for Entry: Small Works

Medium Art Center invites artists to submit their artwork to “Small Works,” a juried art exhibition held at MEDIUM Art Center in Ukiah from December 5th through December 27th.

Coinciding with the onset of the holiday shopping season, this non-traditional art show will feature works of all mediums priced at $200 or less. All sales are “cash and carry,” meaning purchasers will get to take the piece with them when they buy it. The goal is to close the gallery with empty walls.

Submission Details:

All accepted works will be a maximum of 12” x 16” framed.
There is no entry fee and a limit of three entries per artist. All media welcome.
Deadline for entries: Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, 11:59 PM PST.
Opening reception: Friday, December 5th, 2025, 5:00-8:00 PM PST.
The show runs through Saturday, December 27th, 2025.
Applicants will be notified by email beginning November 25th
Commission-free sales (donation-based model optional)

Selected artists will be notified the week of November 25th. All accepted work must be delivered in person or shipped by December 3rd, ready to hang or display.

*Work should be framed or mounted with appropriate hardware for hanging or ready to display on a pedestal. For questions about getting work “hang-ready,” email us at info@deepvalleyarts.org.

MEDIUM Art Center is an artist-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting accessible, inclusive, and experimental art. Located in Ukiah’s Pear Tree Center, the art center hosts exhibitions, workshops, and performances throughout the year.

Optional Donation: Upon the sale of my artwork, I would like to donate a portion of my sales to the MEDIUM Art Center, a Mendocino County-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Agreements

Permission to Exhibit: MEDIUM Art Center have permission to display accepted artworks at MEDIUM Art Center.

I give permission to show my work:

Permission to represent: If accepted into the exhibition, MEDIUM Art Center may post artworks with full credit to the artist on their website as well as their Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook feeds.

I give permission to represent my work:

Artwork Delivery and Pick-Up: If accepted into the group exhibition, artworks must be delivered to MEDIUM Art Center at 518 E Perkins Street in Ukiah during gallery hours or by appointment. Artworks must be picked up after the show ends (except in case of sale) during regular gallery hours or by appointment. I accept that I will be able to drop off and pick up the work during these time frames or that I will contact the MEDIUM Art Center for alternative arrangements. Artwork not picked up within 30 days of the show closing will be considered an in-kind donation to the MEDIUM Art Center.

Shipping of artwork: I understand that if I cannot deliver my artwork in person, I will be responsible for any shipping costs to exhibit my artwork (both to and from) at MEDIUM Art Center.

Condition and Installation: Artworks must be delivered in reasonably good, clean condition. Flat works must be equipped with an appropriate hanging apparatus and ready to install. We may reach out to discuss installation for accepted artworks. You may be asked to facilitate installation depending on the size and medium of the work(s). We may be able to assist with installation readiness with advance notice, including but not limited to provision of pedestals.
