Open Mic is held on the third Thursday of every month starting at 6:30 pm. Come to a welcoming and supportive space to read a story, sing a song, recite a favorite poem or any other short performance. All ages are welcome. No experience necessary.

MEDIUM Art Center will celebrate our grand opening at the new downtown location on Saturday, Oct. 4, with a record release party featuring live performances by three local bands: Weird Year, Quail on a Leash, and Clayton King.

MEDIUM Art Center will present its Haunted Art Show, a juried exhibition exploring the eerie, the playful, and the strange. The show opens Friday, Oct. 3, during the First Friday Art Walk, and runs through Nov. 1 at MEDIUM’s new downtown gallery, 110 S. School St.

In this class, students will design and carve their own 3-4 color block, learning the essentials of what to cut away (and when). By the end, each student will have created a small edition of their two-color print to trade with one another and will go home with a small deck of prints and a reusable single-color stamp (from your final print layer).

DEADLINE for Submissions to “Haunted” Juried Art Exhibition

Interested in alternative analog processes you can do at home? Polaroid Emulsion Transfers (or lifts) is the process of taking a Polaroid print and soaking it in water until the emulsion floats and can be transferred to a new medium such as canvas or watercolor paper. This allows you to manipulate and change the image.

This one-day workshop is an invitation to celebrate creative courage and curiosity. Making art is human nature. With instructor Amanda Hart as your guide, you will venture beyond the constraints of traditional aesthetic expectations and make some "bad" art!

In this one-day workshop, you will learn how to needle felt a small bee.

Instructor Jennifer Henderson will guide you through the basics of needle felting, using special barbed needles to interlock wool fibers into solid forms. You’ll learn how to sculpt shapes, add detail, and safely handle the tools as you create a small, whimsical needle-felted bee of your own to take home.
