Session 1: June 15-19
Session 2: June 22-26
Camp Description:
Join us for a week of immersive art-making in a working gallery setting. Designed for curious and motivated young artists, this small-group camp blends morning outdoor inspiration time with focused studio instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
Campers strengthen foundational art skills — including composition, color mixing, texture, perspective, and three-dimensional construction — while developing confidence, independence, and creative problem-solving. With extended studio work periods and individualized guidance, students are given the time and support to move beyond quick projects and into more thoughtful, skill-building work.
Each student keeps a sketchbook, creates multiple finished pieces throughout the week, and participates in a final mini gallery exhibition where families are invited to celebrate their work.
All materials are included. Enrollment is intentionally limited to ensure a high-quality, personalized creative experience.
Artist Instructor Bio:
Margie Manogue-Lillich is a multimedia artist and educator based in Ukiah, California with over 25 years of experience in the arts. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Crafts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and works primarily in needle-felted and fabric maché sculpture, creating narrative works that often feature animals and explore themes of ecology, storytelling, and place.
As both a working artist and a mother of two young children, Margie brings a practical, hands-on understanding of how children learn, grow, and express themselves creatively. She has spent years guiding young artists in building strong foundational skills while also nurturing imagination, confidence, and creative independence.
Margie is known for creating structured, engaging learning environments where students feel supported and challenged in equal measure. Her teaching emphasizes craftsmanship, problem-solving, and the belief that children are capable of meaningful, thoughtful artistic work when given time, tools, and encouragement.
Through her studio practice and her teaching, she is committed to cultivating curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of the arts in the next generation of makers.
