MEDIUM Art Center.
Resources and outlets for artists in rural communities are limited and often mired in steep representation/gallery commission fees. We are trying to change that model.
At MEDIUM Art Center, we provide a community space for art exhibitions, classes, and more. There are no submission fees to enter our exhibitions, and we pay the artist the entire list value for their artwork upon sale, as we do not take commissions unless the artist chooses to donate a percentage of their sale.
There are big plans underway— beyond our standard of themed juried shows, we are also now holding solo and group shows, with a new exhibition every month. We offer weekly classes, as well as workshops, lectures, music performances, and film screenings. We are a community space to meet for monthly events such as the First Friday Art Walk, Ukiah Photography Club, Mending Group, and Open Mic. We have many more ideas for art opportunities and are very excited about the future.
Our dream is to create this space in celebration and support of COMMUNITY. We want to create this with YOU and will need your input, help, and creativity to bring it to life. We would love to hear your thoughts. What do you want to see happen at MEDIUM Art Center? What do you feel our art community is lacking? What would you like to be involved with? Please email us at info@deepvalleyarts.org with any thoughts or how to get involved. Let’s build this together!
