“Prescriptions For Life!” - Exhibition Opening & First Friday Art Walk
Collages by Paula Gray & Poetry Broadsides by Theresa Whitehill
On display for September at Medium Art Center
110 South School Street, Ukiah
Opening Reception: Friday, September 4, 2026, 5-8 pm, as part of Ukiah's First Friday Art Walk
In this exhibition, artist Paula Gray and poet Theresa Whitehill collaborate on the theme of “prescriptions for life,” with Paula's collages on cradled board that she created from actual medical prescriptions from the pages of a nineteenth century medical prescription ledger, juxtaposed with Theresa’s writings exploring related themes, which she printed as a series of letterpress broadsides. This exhibit was to have had its debut at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco on March 4, 2020. The exhibit had to be canceled within three days of opening due to the shelter-in-place shutdown at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic. At long last this exhibit will have its public showing at Medium Art Center in Ukiah
