MEDIUM Art Center is announcing a call for artwork for "Haunted," a juried group exhibition exploring fear, shadows, and everything lurking just beyond view. The show opens October 3, 2025, and runs through November 1 at our Ukiah art center. An opening reception will be held Friday, October 3, during the First Friday Art Walk.
Artists are invited to submit work across all visual media. We’re looking for ghosts, bones, nightmares, urban legends, unspoken grief, and the unsettling beauty of the unknown. If it makes your skin crawl, we want to see it.
This is more than a Halloween show. Haunted is about what we carry and what we can’t explain. It’s about using art to name the thing hiding under the bed. Dark art gives form to dread and lets us hold it at arm’s length. It can make the invisible visible, the taboo talkable. It’s also just a lot of fun to lean into the creepy stuff and see what happens.
Submissions are open to all artists, no fees, no required theme beyond what haunts you. New, emerging, and experimental work is encouraged. If selected, your work will be part of an unforgettable show that digs deep and looks back.

Artists may submit work online at www.mediumarts.org/call-for-entry starting August 26th.
Selected artists will be notified the week of September 23rd. All accepted work must be delivered in person or shipped by September 30th, ready to hang or display.
MEDIUM Art Center is an artist-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting accessible, inclusive, and experimental art. Located in Ukiah’s Pear Tree Center, the art center hosts exhibitions, workshops, and performances throughout the year.
