Learn the ancient art of Chinese brush strokes with guidance from local artist William Shi.
William Shi will introduce participants to traditional Chinese brush painting, offering three hours of hands-on instruction for an in-depth approach to brush techniques, landscapes, and animal painting. Participants will experiment with ink and watercolor on rice paper and create their own works of art. The workshop fosters creativity, cultural appreciation, and social interaction. Materials are provided; no prior experience with art is needed for participants. Participants may take one or both workshops.
William Shi is a 17-year-old artist who grew up in China and currently lives in Ukiah, Northern CA. William is fascinated with animals and nature; hence he captures their essence in his artworks. He paints in many media including traditional Chinese rice paper painting and oil painting.
