MEDIUM Art Center presents "Zen in Feathers" — The Art of William Shi

Opening Reception: Friday, April 3rd, 2026, 5–8 p.m.

Location: MEDIUM Art Center, 110 S. School Street, Ukiah, California

Ukiah, CA — MEDIUM Art Center is proud to present Zen in Feathers, a solo exhibition featuring the painting and ink work of William Shi. The exhibition opens during the First Friday Art Walk on April 3, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m., with light refreshments, wine, and beer available by donation.

William Shi (b. 2007) is an award-winning artist from Northeastern China, now based in Ukiah. He blends traditional Chinese brush painting and oil painting to explore two recurring subjects: chickens, observed daily from the flock of 35 he raises, and Buddhist philosophy, shaped by his life at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. His body of work now exceeds 400 pieces. Shi has exhibited at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, earned a letter of recognition from the U.S. President, and studied in pre-college programs at RISD and Yale. William is an exceptionally accomplished 17-year-old, and the Medium Art Center is proud to present this solo exhibition of his artwork at this momentous time when he is preparing for high school graduation and entry to college.

The exhibition runs through May 1, 2026. Free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
