Art for All - "Creative Courage" workshop with Amanda Hart
This one-day workshop is an invitation to celebrate creative courage and curiosity. Making art is human nature. With instructor Amanda Hart as your guide, you will venture beyond the constraints of traditional aesthetic expectations and make some "bad" art!
Together, you will:
- Experiment with techniques that prioritize the process over the product
- Explore some historical context of "bad art" and the power of creativity for social change
- Challenge perfectionism and conventional artistic standards through intentional rule-breaking
- Reconnect with art-making for the joy of it
Amanda Hart is a mixed-media artist with a passion for collage and exploring the emotional possibilities of color. Currently pursuing a Master's in Expressive Arts Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies, Amanda approaches creativity as an ongoing conversation between art, artist, and context, understanding that this dialogue is where healing and revolutionary possibility intersect.
Supplies provided. Limited space available, registration suggested.
When: Saturday, August 16th, 2025 - 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Where: MEDIUM Art Center - 518 E. Perkins St., Ukiah, CA 95482
This project was funded by a grant from the Community Foundation of Mendocino County.
